Ready to Serve

We are called to serve, but where? 

Jesus told His disciples that He Himself came not to be served, but to serve.  When you accepted Christ, He gave you the Holy Spirit...and He equipped you with a spiritual gift that He wants you to use in service.   If you've never taken a spiritual gifts survey, we recommend you do.  This is a great way to find out where God wants you!

Opportunities to Serve

There are plenty of opportunities to serve at Prairie Springs.  Once you've identified your spiritual gifts, check out some of these opportunities to see if there's one that fits you.  If not, don't despair...contact Pastor Ken to discuss it.   Perhaps God is calling you to start a ministry that doesn't exist...yet!

Prairie Springs Ministry Tour

First Impressions Team (Leader:John Salas) - purpose is to welcome guests to Prairie Springs in a friendly and helpful manner, giving them a great First Impression.  Includes parking attendants, greeters and the Welcome Center, buildings and grounds.

Worship Team (Leader: Stephanie Steele) - purpose is to lead the congregation in heart-felt worship!  Includes musicians, vocalists, and audio-visual.

Fusion (Leader: Amanda Miller) - process by which people join together to form the body of Christ, through serving in ministry and ConnecTeam involvement.

ConnecTeams (Leader: Terry Pauley) - purpose is to provide discipleship and to do life together.  New groups will roll out the week of September 7th...more information coming soon!

Missions Team (Leader:    ) - purpose is to plan and coordinate various missions events such as Vacation Bible School, Touched Twice Health Clinic, Block parties, Corn Festival, Truckstop ministry, and missions trips.   It also includes the English as a Second Language ministry which is need of additional teachers and helpers. Communications Team (Leader: Caryn Jette) - purpose is to communicate the vision of the church and various activities and events to the congregation and to publicize various events to the community.  Includes website development & management, weekly worship folder, bulletin boards, misc. promotional materials & literature, powerpoint, etc.

PSC Kids (Leader: Stephanie Salas) - purpose is to share Jesus and the Bible with kids from birth through 5th grade in an exciting, creative way!  Includes nursery workers, small group teachers, and children's worship leaders.

Focus Youth Ministry (Leader: Annie Weirough) - purpose is to ignite a passion for Christ in our youth and to reach out to the youth of Sun Prairie.  Includes youth workers and volunteers for various larger youth events.

Hospitality Team (Leader: Peg Shoup) - purpose is to create a warm and clean environment to encourage fellowship.   Includes housekeeping, coffee bar and the kitchen team and fellowship meals.

Financial Stewardship Team (Leader: Patrick Anderson) - purpose is to prayerfully oversee the finances of the church, ensuring that we, as a church, are good stewards of God's provision.
